HAMC Wellness Center Adds Equipment

Posted on 1/17/2017

Thanks to a recent grant from the Otto Bremer Foundation, the Heart of America Medical Center has added a significant number of new exercise machines to the Wellness Center.
A grant for over $59,000 was used to help purchase eleven new pieces of equipment to better serve patients, residents and Wellness Center members. Equipment such as rowing, weight and abdominal machines, treadmills and NuStep's were assembled and added within the last two weeks.
"Receiving the funds to purchase this new equipment in our Wellness Center has allowed us to greatly improve patient care and has increased the options available to our community. This enables us to improve every aspect of the body in need of therapy. We can offer specific treatments and are now in comparison to other rehab facilities in our state." States Alli Rognlien, Occupational Director at HAMC.
"We would like to sincerely thank the Otto Bremer Foundation for their generous grant that has allowed us to add much needed updates and new equipment for the patients and wellness clients we serve. This has allowed us to add specialized equipment to help those who are just starting with an exercise program and additional equipment to serve more people in the community. This will allow us to continue to provide state of the art therapy care and wellness programs for our community." States John Brandt, Physical Therapy Director.
Created in 1944, the Otto Bremer Foundation assists in achieving full economic, civic and social participation in and for the betterment of their communities. The Foundation strives to help build healthy, vibrant communities in the places that are homes and neighbors to Bremer banks-communities where basic needs are met, mutual regard is prized and opportunities for economic, civic and social participation are within everyone's reach. The Otto Bremer Foundation owns 92 percent of Bremer Bank, and receives an equivalent share of the bank profits that are paid out as dividends. This means that a large portion of bank profit is invested back in local communities through grants and program-related investments.
The Wellness Center is offering tours and tutorials for those interested in learning more about the new equipment and the many services offered. For more information call 776.5455 ext. 2209.
