Opthalmology - Dr. Aaron Fortney Dr. Fortney specializes in the evaluation and treatment of cataracts, glaucoma and diabetic eye disease, and also performs eyelid and pediatric eye surgery. A Bismarck native, he is a graduate of the University of Mary, Bismarck, and the University of North Dakota School of Medicine, Grand Forks. He joined Bismarck-based Dakota Eye Institute in July 2003 and regularly sees patients at Dakota Eye Institute's Rugby offices. Certified through the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Fortney is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Christian Ophthalmology Society, Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgery Society, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, North Dakota Medical Association, and is a past treasurer for the North Dakota Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.
