Before Surgery At the time your surgery is scheduled, your surgeon or a member of the surgery clinic staff will give you preoperative instructions. The day before your procedure, a surgical nurse will call to: Tell you what to expect Answer questions Give you your check-in time and estimated time of discharge It is very important that the staff know exactly what medications you are taking at home. Some medications need to be stopped prior to surgery - others need to be continued. Please remember to bring all your medications with you when you come to the hospital for surgery.
