The Heart of America Medical Center announces the appointment of Lee Holter as Chief Financial Officer.
“We have conducted an extensive search for our new CFO and have confirmed that we have hired the ideal candidate to assist our executive team in leading the organization to financial stability. He joins us from a community medical center in Cordova, Alaska.”
Holter’s responsibilities at HAMC will include overseeing the financial operations of the organization, financial strategies, accounting and statistical reporting, budgeting and financial reporting to Administration and the Board.
Holter has nearly three decades of financial experience. Before joining HAMC, he has served in positions of increasing responsibility including Director of Finance, overseeing areas such as financial reporting, audits, financial planning and analysis. He has served as a Chief Financial Officer in non-profit, critical access hospitals helping to achieve improved financial performance. He is knowledgeable with electronic health records (EHR), and healthcare computer software programs.
Originally from Canton, South Dakota a small rural community 26 miles South East of Sioux Falls. Holter attended Pillsbury Baptist Bible College with a B.A. in Pastorology, History, Public Speaking and later attended Mankato State University with a B.S. in Accounting, Business and Administration.

They want to see the hospital survive, and continue to take care of their friends, family and neighbors. My goal is to help them succeed in keeping HAMC financially viable, improve finances, knowledge, budget and performance accountability.”
Holter enjoys being close to nature by kayaking, hiking, camping, backpacking and traveling. He enjoys the arts, photography and museums. He has two daughters and one son and is pleased to be back in the Midwest near his family.
