HAMC Recognized by the State for Outstanding Patient Care
Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby is 1 of 6 Critical Access Hospitals (CAH’S) recognized by the North Dakota Stroke Taskforce at the State Cardiac and Stroke Conference for success in utilizing the Get with the Guidelines® -Stroke Program.
Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke is an in-hospital program for improving stroke care by promoting consistent adherence to the latest scientific treatment guidelines. A focus on shortening the time to treatments means that patients will have a better chance at recovering after a stroke.
“This is an absolutely perfect demonstration of quality care by our entire Acute Care Team at HAMC.” States Patrick Branco, HAMC CEO.
Patients aren’t the only ones who benefit from this program, it supports hospitals in many ways including:
access to the most up-to-date research and scientific publications
professional education opportunities, such as workshops and webinars
clinical tools and resources
patient education resources
“This is reflective of the care we give stroke patients admitted at our facility. Our whole department of nurses should be commended.” Adds Jana Michels, RN, CEN ER/Trauma/Critical Care Coordinator.
This is the first year smaller rural facilities were recognized by the state for contributions to quality stroke care.
