Hospice Services visits are scheduled as needed to ensure the patient's maximum comfort and symptom management. A nurse is on call 24 hours a day for problems or emergencies.

Personal care is provided by Hospice staff and volunteers, based on schedules that meet the needs of patients and caregivers.

Emotional support is provided by community resources and Heart of America Medical Center social workers.

Spiritual care is provided by the Heart of America Medical Center chaplain and clergy of the patient's choice.

Assistance with daily tasks is typically provided by a trained volunteer. Help is available for running errands, providing companionship, sitting with the patient so caregivers can take breaks and more.

Grief support is available to family members up to 13 months after a loved one's death. Depending on individual needs and comfort levels, bereavement support can be provided through one-on-one visits, phone calls, and literature or support groups.
