Assisted Living

What is Assisted Living?

An assisted living facility in North Dakota is a building with at least five living unity housing five or more adults. The facilities must offer support services to help residents remain as independent  as possible. These Assisted Living Facilities just charge residents rent, and then residents can choose to pay for the services that they want or need. (From AssistedLiving.org)

At Haaland Estates, Assisted Living is Rugby's Carefree, apartment living for seniors who want to maintain their independence.

Haaland Estates Assisted Living is a 37 unit community of Seniors 65 and over who are able to live independently with just a little assistance.

Is Assisted Living Right for Me?

Assisted living is a wonderful option for many individuals, but it's not the right fit for everyone. Before you fill out an application form, ask yourself the following questions:

Are you 60 years or older?

Is your health stable and predictable?

Can you move about independently or use a walker or wheelchair without assistance?

Can you eat without assistance?

Can you get in and out of bed or up from chairs without assistance?

Could you leave your apartment without assistance in case of an emergency?

Can you participate in daily living activities like grooming, personal hygiene, and baths?

Can you maintain sanitary conditions in your apartment?

Can you manage your own toileting needs?

Can you use electrical appliances correctly and safely?

If you received personal care services like medication management, bathing assistance, or medication reminders, could you live independently?

If you've answered "no" to any of these questions, you may find that Haaland Estates Basic Care or the Heart of America Care Center are better equipped to meet your needs.
