Gift Request
Heart of America Medical Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit hospital that has served the medical needs of the Rugby area for over 110 years. To support construction of a mechanical and apartment structure adjacent to the new hospital we are asking for $250,000 from donors. These funds will be matched one to one by the Otto Bremer Trust up to $250,000.
The Need
- The maintenance equipment needs to be stored indoors.
- The environmental service department will need a shop for repair needs.
- Emergency room personal need apartment space.
- Contract staff need housing.
Financing
Due to inflation, our total budget increased from the original $50M to $62M. We are utilizing USDA financing and facility equity to fund the new build project. However, we still need funding for the two needed adjacent structures. The total cost of these buildings is estimated at $1,010,000.
This funding campaign will raise a total of $500,000 towards the total cost of $1,010,00 for these buildings. Thanks to the generous donation of the Otto Bremer Trust half of these funds will be given to the community of Rugby in the form of a matching grant.
Recognition
Donors and their families will be recognized for their contributions to the project on the donor wall. Naming opportunities are being offered in the new building a part of this project.
Heart of America Medical Center not only affects local health. With 270 full and part time employees, we are Rugby's largest employer. The revenue flowing through our $17.6M payroll impacts every business. Areas of manufacturing, agribusinesses, and main street shops relying on local health care as a central feature to attract families and needed workers to Rugby.
